The Black Backpack – Why Everyone Should Have One

Image
Hello and welcome to another Buyer’s Guide post – This time it’s the Black backpack. Following on from my recent posts about Kanken and Herschel backpacks, this time I’m doing a deep dive into the Black backpack. An apparel staple that everyone should have in their collection. They come in all shapes, sizes and brands but what makes a Black backpack an essential accessory is its diversity; you really can use these for so many different occasions all year round.   As the wintery weather sets in, we can start to see the season driving a few style changes. When we know it’s going to get cold, windy and wet we need our clothes and accessories to be ready to complement the change in our daily environment. When it comes to backpacks, this is when a darker and more robust color palette is called for.   Another key point about the Black backpack is gender neutrality. As you’ll see from the selection of bags below, all the leading brands make black backpacks that are functional and aimed

What on Earth is a Fortnite Backpack?!

Now I realize how old I am… Earlier in the week, I saw a young man (teenager) wearing this very backpack. The bold Blue color caught my eye in the first place and when I gave it a second glance I saw the Yellow writing.   Photo from Hatvat.com “Fortnite?” I asked myself – “What on earth is Fortnite…?”   When I got home I decided to do a quick google search to find out more about this “word” I’d just seen. Hopefully, someone, somewhere out there on the internet will thank me for this one day!   Starting at the very beginning – What is Fortnite? If you have no idea what this is, ba

The Top 3 Herschel Backpacks I Like

Welcome to my latest post all about Herschel Backpacks! Following on from my first article in the new series of “ The Top 3 ”, this time I’m focussing on Herschel backpacks.   One of the most difficult things about reviewing backpacks aimed at the non-sporting/hiking audience is the sheer diversity in styles and sizes that are multi-functional. Unless you’re reviewing backpacks based on the material for example (leather versus polyester), I’ve found it’s very different to attribute a particular backpack to a particular type of person or scenario where you’d use it.   For example, I think the growing trend in the technology sector has made it more commonplace for people to work from home. This, in turn, has created a much more casual business culture, which has allowed every aspect of fashion to change, and accessories such as backpacks/bags/briefcases being impacted by this are no exception.   If I’ve missed anything in this article, please feel free to leave a comment in the co

Hello and welcome to my post all about Fjällräven Kanken Backpacks! This blog post is the first in a whole new series. We’ve done some serious testing and market research with these fabulous Kanken backpacks and have come up with a Top 3 recommendation. For each of the three backpacks we’re featuring, we’re focusing on the following four key areas:   Main features and function of each backpack Who is each product aimed at? Why I think you’d buy one Any criticisms or negative points that might be worth noting   Got it? Great! Let’s dive straight in!   What makes the Kanken backpack special? Where else could we start with this review than with an overview of what makes these backpacks so special. Fjällräven started out in the town of Örnsjöldsvik on the east coast of Sweden, miles from anywhere on any usual tour of Scandinavia.   In 1966 the company founder invented the G-1000 fabric – a mixture of tightly woven polyester and cotton that’s impregnated with Greenland wax t
